Aged care is over-complicated and underfunded. I’d worked in aged care, so I thought things would be breezy. ![]() When I became a carer for my father, I tried to set him up with My Aged Care. All Tasmanian kids deserve the best start in life we can give them. I will have two kids in Tasmanian schools I want them getting a good education. Half of Tasmanian adults are functionally illiterate. We should be able to get help when we need it. I felt how hard it is to get into a mental health professional, and when you do, it costs the earth. As a new mum, I struggled with postnatal depression. I’ve seen our mental health crisis up-close both as a mental health professional, and personally. It’s time we lifted the rate, wages and invested in affordable low-cost housing. They’d have to choose between food and fuel. I work every day with people whose biggest fear is a rent increase. Your bills are growing but your pay’s going nowhere. ![]()
